What we look for in new projects
We hire people who can work neatly, ask the right questions and keep artwork accurate from first sketch to final file. Whether the job is a logo redraw, mascot illustration or packaging artwork, we need people who understand line weight, spacing, file prep and the difference between a quick bitmap trace and a proper hand redraw. A good eye matters, but so does consistency and the discipline to finish files properly.
- Care with detail and proportion
- Comfort working to client briefs
- Basic understanding of SVG, EPS, PDF and AI delivery
- Ability to stay organised under deadline pressure
- Good written communication and a calm manner
Roles we hire for
Our work spans redraws, illustrations and production support, so we often look for people in a few different areas. Some roles are highly creative, while others focus on accuracy, proofing and keeping jobs moving. If you have experience in one of these areas and can work carefully, we would like to hear from you.
- Vector artist for logo redraws and artwork conversion
- Illustrator for custom icons, mascots, maps and scenes
- Prepress support for file checks and print ready output
- Quality control artist for line cleanup and final review
- Client services support for briefs, updates and handovers
How our artwork team works
Our day to day work is practical. Some clients send clean artwork that only needs conversion into usable vector files. Others send old scans, low resolution images or hand drawn marks that need to be rebuilt properly from scratch. We value the skill to judge when bitmap tracing is enough and when a hand redraw gives a better result. That judgement saves time and gives the client a file they can use for signage, print, embroidery or digital use.
Because clients use our artwork across different applications, we expect team members to understand how artwork behaves at different sizes. A logo has to stay sharp on a business card and on a vehicle panel. A menu illustration may need to print clearly in one colour. A social graphic may need a clean cutout with accurate spacing. Small errors show fast.
What the work involves day to day
Based in Observatory, Cape Town, we work with businesses in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Pretoria, Bloemfontein and other towns across South Africa. That means one day you may be refining a badge illustration for a local shop and the next you may be preparing a packaging icon set for a national client. The pace can be steady or busy depending on briefs, but the standard stays the same.
- Redrawing logos into clean vector format
- Creating custom brand icons, mascots and line art
- Preparing files for print and digital use
- Checking artwork for alignment, curves and closed paths
- Keeping notes on client changes and approvals
What helps you fit in here
We work closely as a small team, so the right person needs to be dependable and easy to work with. In South Africa, practical habits matter, from preparing files for different printers to handling municipal signage requirements where needed. A person who can think ahead makes a big difference.
- Self management and follow through
- Attention to file naming and version control
- Respect for client artwork rights and permissions
- Willingness to learn new methods and improve
- Comfort with feedback and revision notes
How to apply
If you would like to work with us, send your CV through the enquiry form on our contact page and include a short note about the role you are suited for. If you have a portfolio, mention that as well and tell us what kind of artwork you have handled before. We review applications for future opportunities as they come up and respond when there is a fit. Please only send artwork you own or have the right to share.
We are especially interested in people who understand vector output, print readiness and the value of careful redraws. If you can work with precision and keep communication clear, we would be glad to hear from you.
