Start Here If You Need Help With Artwork
If you are not sure whether your artwork needs a vector redraw, bitmap tracing or a full hand-drawn illustration, send us the file you have and tell us where it will be used. We look at the detail, the print size and whether the artwork must scale for signage, packaging, clothing or digital use.
For support, we need clear source artwork and confirmation that you own the rights or have permission to use it. That keeps the process clean and saves time for everyone.
When To Choose Redraw, Trace Or Illustrate
Different artwork needs different treatment. A simple logo with clean edges may be suitable for vector tracing, while an old low-resolution image, faded scan or rough sketch often needs a hand redraw for better line work and spacing. For mascots, maps, badges and custom brand icons, we usually create the artwork as a fresh vector illustration so the final result is tidy and easy to reuse.
- Bitmap tracing is useful when the original image is clear enough to follow.
- Hand redraw is better when the logo needs cleaner proportions and sharper curves.
- Illustration is the right route for new artwork, scenes, patterns and icons.
- Vector files suit print, embroidery planning, signage and web use.
File Formats We Supply For Handover
We supply common vector formats for client use and for passing on to sign makers, printers and other suppliers. The exact files depend on the job, but the usual handover includes SVG, EPS, PDF and AI. If you need artwork for a specific print workflow, tell us upfront so we can prepare the file in the right format.
Where needed, we can also keep the artwork tidy for large-format output, small labels or files that need to stay clean after resizing.
What To Send Before We Begin
To avoid delays, please send the clearest version of the artwork you have, plus any notes about colour, spelling, layout or the intended use. If you have a damaged scan, a screenshot or a rough photo, that is still useful, but clearer source material usually gives a better result.
- The artwork file or photo you want redrawn
- Your company name and any text that must appear exactly as written
- Notes on colours, spacing, missing parts or damaged sections
- The final use, such as print, digital, embroidery or signage
Revisions, Approvals And Final Checks
Once we have worked through the artwork, we share it for review and wait for your approval before finalising the files. If something needs adjusting, such as line thickness, text spacing or a small shape correction, we handle that as part of the review process.
Before delivery, our quality control team checks the artwork for clean edges, readable detail and a practical file structure. That matters when the file has to work in a printer's workflow or on a sign board in coastal humidity.
Common Support Questions From South African Clients
We regularly help clients who need artwork for stores, vehicle branding, menus, stickers, product labels and municipal submissions. Some jobs need files that stay crisp at a small size, while others need artwork that can be enlarged without softening the edges.
- Need a logo redrawn from an old scan?
- Need a vector file for a printer or sign maker?
- Need a mascot, badge or infographic drawn from scratch?
- Need artwork prepared for multiple branches across South Africa?
Clients in Observatory, Cape Town and further afield can reach us through the enquiry form on our contact page. If your brand has specific production needs, mention them early so we can advise on the best file setup.
