Cape Town

Vectorization Studio offers logo redraw and hand drawn vector illustration support for businesses across Cape Town and nearby suburbs. We work from Observatory and handle enquiries through our contact page form for projects in the city and beyond.

Illustration support for shops, agencies and local makers

Along with logo redraws, we create hand drawn vector illustrations for businesses that need something more specific than a standard logo. That includes brand icons, mascot illustration, packaging illustration, map illustration, menu illustration, sticker illustration, pattern illustration, infographic illustration, badge illustration, line illustration, scene illustration and social graphics. These are often used by Cape Town businesses that want a clearer visual story for customers, whether they are opening a new location, refreshing packaging, or adding graphics to a campaign.

We also work with clients who need illustration files that are easy to separate for print, cut paths, spot colours or layered production. That can help when a label printer, sign shop or fabric decorator needs artwork that is neat and ready to use. If your business needs a local scene, a product feature icon set or a custom map showing a route or branch area, we can keep the style consistent across the full set.

  • Custom brand icons for stationery and digital profiles
  • Mascot artwork for promotions and events
  • Packaging and sticker illustrations for product ranges
  • Menus, badges, patterns and social media graphics

Serving Observatory and nearby suburbs across the peninsula

Our base is in Observatory, Cape Town, and we work with businesses in the city bowl, southern suburbs, northern suburbs and along the peninsula. Common areas include Woodstock, Salt River, Mowbray, Rondebosch, Claremont, Newlands, Milnerton, Blouberg, Sea Point, Green Point, Bellville, Wynberg and Parow, plus surrounding suburbs that need artwork supplied fast and in the right format. We also take enquiries from Johannesburg, Durban, Pretoria and Bloemfontein, but Cape Town remains a busy area for day to day logo redraws and illustration updates.

Local conditions matter. Coastal humidity can affect some print processes, so it helps to have artwork supplied cleanly with the correct colour build and size notes from the start. If a client needs artwork for municipal signage, market stalls or packaging that must meet practical layout rules, we keep the file setup straightforward and easy to check.

  • Careful file prep for print shops, sign makers and packaging suppliers
  • Artwork sized for vehicle graphics, pull-up banners and storefront use
  • Support for businesses working to local print and fitting schedules

How we handle tracing, redraws and rights to artwork

Some jobs start with a simple bitmap trace, while others need a full redraw from scratch. The right approach depends on the source artwork and what the final file has to do. If a logo is crisp and simple, tracing may be enough as a starting point. If it has poor edges, old gradients, fuzzy lettering or awkward proportions, a hand redraw usually gives a better result. For illustration work, we often build the image as original vector linework so it can be resized, coloured and edited properly later.

Clients must own the artwork they send or have permission to use it. That includes old logos, sketches, reference images and any elements that belong to another party. If the source material is not clear on rights, we ask for confirmation before we work on it. This protects the client, the business and the final artwork, and it keeps the file handover clean when the project goes to a printer or supplier.

  • We can redraw from scans, screenshots, photos or rough originals
  • We can separate artwork into layers for editing and production
  • We can supply vector files that stay sharp at small or large sizes

Typical Cape Town clients we work with

Cape Town businesses often need artwork that works across several touchpoints at once. A coffee shop may need a redrawn logo for cups, menus and window vinyl. A property company may need clean icons and map markers for listings. A food brand might need packaging illustration, badges and social graphics. We also help agencies, startups, manufacturers, schools and service businesses that need accurate vector files for day to day use, not just a single pretty picture.

Many clients in the area want files that are easy to pass on to printers, sign writers and marketing teams without going back for fixes each time. That is where proper vector formatting helps. It also avoids the usual issues that come from resizing a bitmap, such as blurry edges or text that drops in quality. For businesses that move quickly between campaigns, branches and seasonal promotions, having a clear file set saves admin and keeps artwork consistent.

  • Retail and hospitality brands that need menus, stickers and signage
  • Professional practices needing icons, badges and infographic elements
  • Startups and established firms that want a cleaner version of existing artwork

Getting started through our contact form

Send all enquiries through the contact page form. Once we have your details, we can review the source artwork, the intended use and the file types you need. If you already know where the artwork will be used, mention that upfront. For instance, a logo for a shopfront sign may need a different approach from one for a mobile screen or embroidery on workwear. Small details such as stroke weight, colour matching and spacing can make a real difference later.

We work with businesses across Cape Town and the rest of South Africa, and we keep the handover practical. If you need SVG, EPS, PDF or AI files, or a combination of them, we can prepare the artwork for the relevant supplier. If you need more than a logo redraw, we can also shape the same visual style into icons, patterns or line illustrations so the brand stays consistent across print and digital. It is simple enough once the brief is clear, no fuss.

Redraw and file questions

What is the difference between bitmap tracing and a hand redraw?

Bitmap tracing follows the pixels in a low-resolution image, which can keep flaws and uneven edges. A hand redraw rebuilds the artwork as clean vector shapes, which usually gives a better result for print and scaling.

Which file formats can you supply?

We can supply SVG, EPS, PDF and AI files, depending on what the artwork is needed for. Those formats are commonly used for web, print, signage and editable production files.

Do I need rights to the artwork I send?

Yes. You must own the artwork or have permission to use it. If the source logo, sketch or reference image belongs to someone else, we need clear rights before we start.

Have a blurry logo? Send it to the studio.
